Over the past two weeks, I’ve acquired over 200 books. I spent a total of $22.00 for all of these. I took advantage of the library book sale and their $5 bag day. Then, I went bonkers at a thrift store where the books cost a dime. Needless to say, I now need to purchase more book shelves!
I have
thousands of dollars’ worth of college textbooks, study guides for law and
medical school entrance exams, and books on success by many famous experts.
These will help not only my personal desire to learn what is in those pages,
but to aide my daughter in her education.
The wealth of information is extravagant, but the cost was minimal –
almost criminal!
Thrift
stores, estate sales, auctions, yard sales, flea markets… they are my mock
university! And the library. Did I mention the library? LOL! I
read about 2 hours a day. Road trips and
waiting rooms are opportunities to get a lot of reading done. The flexibility and affordability of
self-education are alluring, and the self-discipline required may be daunting,
but the investment pays off a lifetime of dividends.
I started a
bibliography for the year 2022. Similar to the insight gained by reviewing my daily metrics, analyses, and gratitude journal, looking back at the bibliography can help me appreciate my growth and provide inspiration. Plus, I like to
challenge myself and want to see a long list already written down. Now, I wonder if I have a book on PATIENCE?
